This project is located in the heart of the East Sacramento area and is within the domain of the Mercy General Hospital campus. The context of the area is predominantly single-family housing dwellings, a few medical facilities, and a multi-level parking garage. This relatively small rental housing development will be strategically designed and placed between the low density residential neighborhood and a proposed Medical Office Building and adjacent medical facilities. The design consists of 20 units of rental housing. One of the goals of the design was to initiate a dialogue not only on the future development of the hospital, but also the contextual character of the area, which has an arts and crafts expression. A sense of community is also enhanced by a well landscaped central courtyard. This project was executed with Stantec Consulting Inc.
